Duck pond maintenance
This pond was used as a duck pond, which became over grown with canadian pond weed. A comparatively high spring flow of water along with nutrient input from the ducks encouraged rapid growth of the weed, which eventually choked the pond almost entirely. A regular maintenance regime (once or twice per year) was introduced to keep the weed at bay. Weed was cut and removed and composted on site. After the first cut, the pond was planted up with a variety of marginal water plants which transformed the pond into a very attractive feature infront of the clients house.
